Hotel Ashburton has a variety of bars: we offer a convivial atmosphere in the Turf Bar, a quiet, friendly tone in the Lounge Bar, or for special occasions you can hire one of our conference rooms with its own fully stocked private bar.
The Turf Sports Bar
This is our public bar, and it reflects the relaxed, casual country atmosphere of Ashburton. Being close neighbours to the racecourse, we’ve adopted a racing theme and the bar has:
- Big screen TV
- Sky Sports channels
- TAB facility for racing and sports betting
- “Ashvegas” gaming room with 14 3-jackpot machines
- Pool table
- Dart Board
- Juke Box
On Friday nights we have a “Happy Hour” which features raffles. Afterwards you can join in the country atmosphere watching the rugby on the big screen T.V.

Lounge Bar
The lounge bar is a calm space where our guests can enjoy a quiet drink and watch Sky channels on the big screen T.V. In the warmer months you can sit outside in the garden, while the central fire lends a warm, homely feel in the winter.
Functions Bars
Our two larger functions rooms have their own fully stocked bars, and are available to hire for larger events. For smaller functions, the Erewhon room has a hatch that can open up into the Lounge Bar.
